The Cranbrook and District Community Foundation (CDCF) takes a broad and inclusive view of what a community is, and provide grants to the widest possible range of organizations and initiatives in the areas of:

  • Arts, Culture and Heritage;
  • Education;
  • Physical Activity and Sports;
  • Environment;
  • Social and Health Services; and
  • Programs for Seniors.

This year, in celebration of Canada’s 150th anniversary of Confederation, the CDCF is collaborating with Community Foundations of Canada’s Community Fund for Canada’s 150th program and utilizing their application process. Partnering with the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th provides the CDCF with access to matching funding to make more grants to organizations within our community. These grants will be responsive to local priorities, connected to Canada’s sesquicentennial and will foster a greater sense of belonging, inclusion and reconciliation.

All CDCF grant applications for 2017 will be received through the Community Fund for Canada’s 150th granting platform. You will be directed to register an account before you can start your application. The information gathered through the application process will not be made public, and will be available only to the CDCF, Community Foundations of Canada and the Government of Canada exclusively for purposes related to the Fund.

The deadline for submitting applications is March 10, 2017. Applications will be reviewed by the CDCF Grant Making Committee, which evaluates all eligible applications and provides granting recommendations to the CDCF Board of Directors. Final decisions regarding granting will be provided to all applicants by May 1st. Please note that applications that may not meet all the criteria for CFC 150 matching funds may still be eligible for regular CDCF granting.
